Sudan’s President Omar Hassan al-Bashir on Wednesday appointed his first vice president Hassan Saleh to the newly created post of prime minister.
The position of Prime Minister was created after an amendment in the country’s constitution in December 2016 on the demand of opposition groups. Saleh will continue to hold the position of the Vice President.
President Bashir had abolished the Prime Minister post after the coup that brought him to power in 1989.
