President Omar Al Bashir will visit his counterpart in Juba on Monday for talks on the current crisis in South Sudan, according to media reports in Khartoum.
Both the commercial television Ashorooq and state-run Radio Omdurman confirmed the reports.
The arrival of Al Bashir in the South Sudanese capital means that South Sudan’s Foreign Minister Barnaba Marial will no longer have to make a trip to Khartoum as scheduled for Monday.
Al Bashir’s talks will be separate from the IGAD-led mediation, a spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told the pro-government Ashorooq TV.
