Sudan: Rebels repulse attack in Golo, Central Darfur

The Sudan Liberation Movement led by Abdel Wahid El Nur (SLM-AW) announced that it has repulsed government forces in the area of Golo in Central Darfur on Monday.

Mustafa Tambour, the military spokesman for the SLM-AW, reported to Radio Dabanga that Sudanese army forces made an incursion attempt at the area west of Golo, controlled by the movement.  

“The government troops entered the area at about 5am on Monday. The SLM combatants confronted them, and were able to defeat them in a battle that lasted eight hours. 27 army troops were killed,” he claimed.
