A top commander in the Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North has denied claims by the Sudanese army that he was killed in recent fighting in the Nuba Mountains area.

A top commander in the Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North has denied claims by the Sudanese army that he was killed in recent fighting in the Nuba Mountains area.

The Sudanese military had reported on its Facebook page on Monday that Commander Juma’a Salim Allah Jabo was killed in the recent major fighting at Daldako.

In an interview with Radio Tamazuj today he said, “The National Congress claimed to have killed in the Daldako area several SPLM-N generals… We are all fine and well.”

Asked about the current situation in the Daldako area, he said, “Until now the battle is continuing, and we are waiting (for more fighting).”
