Police authorities in Khartoum announced Friday morning that the suspected killers of a Spanish diplomat have been arrested.

Last week, a Spanish diplomat was found dead in his house at Garden City in the Sudanese capital Khartoum.

Sudan’s interior ministry said in a statement Monday that the diplomat was stabbed to death.

The Sudanese foreign ministry in a separate statement identified the diplomat as Emiliano Garcia who had been heading the Spanish embassy’s visa department for three years in Khartoum.

In a press release extended to the Sudanese News Agency (SUNA) this morning, police authorities said more details will be provided in a press conference later today at the premises of the police service headquarters.
