Sudanese Petroleum Minister, Azhari Abdul-Gadir on Sunday announced that oil production in South Sudan’s former Unity State will begin in two months’ time.
Addressing the press in Khartoum after a meeting with the Sudanese Vice President and Prime Minister Bakri Hassan Saleh, Abdul-gadir said the ministry is geared up to increase oil production in the coming period.
He also revealed that they discussed technical aspects of the agreement signed with South Sudan on the re-production of oil fields in South Sudan.
The minister noted that they have sent an integrated team of technicians to inspect the oil fields with a view to start oil production in Tharjieth fields soon.
