Activists from Sudan’s Sennar state have reported new arrests of students at the University of Sennar by security and intelligence agents.
Sennar University’s administration recently ordered the temporary suspension of classes owing to the high tensions on campus, following clashes between pro-government and opposition students.
Sa’ad Abdullah, an activist in Sennar, told Radio Tamazuj that the day before yesterday security personnel stormed students dormitories and arrested 24 students, and seized students’ belongings including mobile phones and computers.
The activist attributed the reason for their arrest to their presence in the dormitories after authorities had ordered them to leave.
