Mujlad town in Sudan’s West Kordofan State is reportedly experiencing rising prices of consumer goods these days, owing to multiple high taxes collected by the local authorities from traders.
Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, several citizens noted that consumer goods especially millet, which is the staple food, have dramatically risen in price at the market.
The citizens complained about low salaries while prices are sky-rocking in the area. “A small bushel of millet costs 25 SDG and its grinding is 3 SDG, whereas a kilogram of meat reached 50 SDG,” one of the locals explained.
