Sudan: kidnappings force Ad Daein curfew

A lands director and a trader were abducted by unknown groups in separate incidents in Ad Daein Locality of Sudan’s East Dafur state.

A lands director and a trader were abducted by unknown groups in separate incidents in Ad Daein Locality of Sudan’s East Dafur state.

A source told Radio Tamazuj that the kidnappers of the director demanded SDG 150,000 ransom. The other criminal group demanded 200,000 SDG for the release of the trader.

Local authorities imposed a curfew from 7 pm until 7 am to curb widespread killing and kidnapping.

Meanwhile, police authorities announced the arrest of 17 suspects in connection with the rumoured transportation of arms and ammunition to Ma’alia tribesmen in Adila locality by train.
