Sudan's Central Bureau on Sunday said the country’s annual rate of inflation rose to 34.68 % in March from 33.53% the previous month due to increasing food and energy prices.
Sudan's economy has deteriorated considerably after South Sudan separated in 2011, taking with it three-quarters of the oil revenue.
Sudan government announced cuts to fuel and electricity subsidies in November in a bid to stop the surge in inflation and control the fall of Sudanese pound in the black market.
