Sudan’s Minister of Information Ahmed Bilal Othman says his government is willing to postpone the final session of the general assembly of the National Dialogue, which is set to be on 6 August, if the opponents of the Dialogue sign the African Union roadmap.
This would possibly allow for opposition groups that have been rejecting the dialogue to enter the process, which would effectively be extended.
In an interview with Radio Tamazuj, Bilal said if those who oppose the National Dialogue sign the African roadmap presented by Thabo Mbeki, the ‘7+7’ organizing committee will meet them to negotiate their joining to of the Dialogue after negotiating the resolution of political issues in the two areas and Darfur.
He pointed that there is pressure from the international community for opponents of the roadmap to sign it, adding that he expects them to sign it in the coming days.
