‘Sudan government won’t negotiate with rebels’: Khartoum

The Sudan government will not negotiate with the Sudan Revolutionary Front (SRF) and upholds its position not to recognize the SPLM-N, according to Sudanese Minister of Information Ahmed Bilal Osman, who also serves as official spokesman for the Khartoum government.

In an interview with Asharq Al-Awsat news agency, Osman stressed, however, that his government will adhere to terms of the 2005 Comprehensive Peace Agreement, as well as the protocols on the two regions of South Kordofan Nuba Mountains and Blue Nile.

He said that the Khartoum government’s decision to stop exporting South Sudan’s is irreversible “unless South Sudan completely stops its support for rebel movements who are against the Sudanese government on the border with Sudan”.

Osman further rejected any suggestion regarding the weakness of the Sudan armed forces: “those who say are part of the organization of the rebels and traitors”, he retorted.
