The Sudanese presidency has issued a shoot to kill order for anyone resisting disarmament in Kordofan and Darfur regions.

Sudan’s Vice President, Hasabo Mohammed Abdul-Rahman, who is also the head of the committee tasked with overseeing the disarmament exercise of civilians in Kordofan and Darfur, said the order was very clear, accusing some elements of inciting civilians not to cooperate with the team.

Speaking during the inauguration of women political parties’ forum on Sunday, Hasabo said the organised forces involved in the disarmament exercise will not accept any resistance.

He threatened any constitutional post holders against resisting the exercise saying they will be stripped of their immunity and taken to court to face the law.

The vice president revealed that the government is establishing courts in each locality and state to prosecute those accused of providing and spreading arms, drugs and human trafficking and the charges could attract a death sentence.
