Sudan FVP launches peace, tourism festival in Kadugli town

Sudan’s First Vice President Bakri Hassan Saleh arrived in Kadugli town in South Kordofan State on Monday for a two-day visit to launch a peace and tourism festival in the state.

Sudan’s First Vice President Bakri Hassan Saleh arrived in Kadugli town in South Kordofan State on Monday for a two-day visit to launch a peace and tourism festival in the state.

Addressing a crowd of citizens at Martha Stadium, Saleh stated the Sudanese army, other regular forces and citizens were able to impose peace in the state.

For his part, Issa Adam Abakar, South Kordofan Governor, announced the opening of the Kadugli Festival for Peace, Tourism, Heritage and Shopping.

The state official said the festival aims to showcase capabilities of the state in various fields to foreign and national investors.

Meanwhile, several activists criticized the First Vice President’s visit to launch the festival in Kadugli town. Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, several local youths said the festival will be used as a new way to siphon off public funds in the state.
