At least four people died when heavy rains and wind collapsed several houses in Abassiya Tegeli Locality in South Kordofan State.
“Four people were killed by flooding at Um Fakarain and El Oliga villages, while about 119 houses were completely destroyed,” an Abassiya resident told Radio Tamazuj.
He also noted that about 2876 acres of sesame farmlands have been washed away by torrents a few days ago.
The heavy rains have cut off roads leading to Abu Kershola Locality and affected hundreds of families at Khor El Tina and Um Baraka as well as the outskirts of Kershola town, according to the same source.
The Abu Kershola Locality Commissioner Gharig Kambal also told Sudan Media Centre that flooding and rains have cut off roads connecting the town with Khor Fallata, El Sidir and Mazlegan as well as Khor El Tina villages.
