South Sudan information minister Michael Makuei, who is a member of the negotiating team, declared on Thursday that Sudan’s Foreign Minister Al-Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed “is not honest with himself”.
Makuei, who is also the South Sudanese government spokesman, lashed out at Sudanese foreign minister accusing him of misleading the international community when he announced that the South Sudan parties agreed to sign a deal on power sharing in Khartoum on Thursday.
"So, he is the one who is misleading the international community, the region and even the heads of state and government of IGAD," Makuei told South Sudan television from Khartoum.
“Nevertheless, we are optimistic that he will come to his senses and do the right thing for the people of South Sudan,” he said.
Makuei reaffirmed his government’s commitment to continue negotiating with the opposition to bring peace in South Sudan.
