Sudan’s good harvest is expected to significantly reduce the number people of living in hunger “crisis” or hunger “insecurity”, according to a U.N. humanitarian report.
The improved harvest also coincide with an increased agriculture and livestock production, and also a reduction in food prices.
“Sorghum and millet prices decreased by 5 and 25 percent respectively between August and September and are likely to decrease further,” the report said.
But according to the same report, continued fighting in Southern Kordofan, Blue Nile, and parts of Darfur will likely exacerbate the hunger situation there.
