The Sudanese electoral body is expected to announce geographical constituencies on Sunday after being drawn and submitted to the presidency, according the head of the National Elections Commission Dr. Mukhtar El Asam.

In a press statement Friday, El Sam said the presidency will submit it to political parties.

Early September, the National Elections Commission (NEC) announced that the general elections will begin on 2 April 2015 and the tallying operation will start on the same day. The NEC said the contested Abyei and Halayeb areas will remain part of Sudan as per 2010 elections.

Halayeb is an area that is claimed by Egypt, whereas Abyei is a disputed area between Sudan and South Sudan.
