There have been 571 total suspected cases until 11 December, the UN said, citing Sudan’s health ministry.

The UN said the outbreak has affected Darfur the most with 128 deaths out of 523 suspected cases there.

In the disputed Abyei area and the Kordofan states, the fever has affected Keilak, Babanousa, Reif Ashargi, Kadugli, Habila, and Shiekan areas, leading to four deaths.

Meanwhile, in Kassala state there has been one death from the disease.
