Sudan: Defence lawyer to try to expedite cases of SPLA-N in Sinja

A legal organization in Sudan will dispatch a defence lawyer to help detainees held in Sennar State accused of collaboration with the rebel group Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North.

Hassan El Tijani, a lawyer affiliated to the Sudanese Organization for the Defence of Rights and Freedoms, told Radio Tamazuj that they will dispatch a defence lawyer this week to Sinja in order to follow-up the file of three men detained in the state since August 2013.

The Blue Nile detainees were recently taken to Khartoum by the authorities, but they were abruptly transported back again to Sennar State.

He revealed the court of appeals has not yet issued any decision since it received the complaint filed in May with respect to 46 accused who are facing life imprisonment and one who is facing the death penalty.
