Several citizens in Mayerno town in Sudan’s Sennar state told Radio Tamazuj that new security measures have disrupted their movements.
The citizens questioned the opening of a new police station which is not far from the main police station within the town.
“As I speak now, the market in closed, the road leading to the market is blocked,” said one of the residents. “There is not any single woman at the market, there is not any motorcycle, the elderly people have also fled the market, and they fear possible violence.”
The Sennar caretaker governor Al-Dou Al-Mahi opened the new police post at Mayerno Market amid tightened security on Sunday.
