Sudan: Bread shortage in South Kordofan capital

Kadugli town in Sudan’s South Kordofan State has experienced an acute shortage of bread and also rising prices of fuel, as the price of a bus ticket within the town increased by 50%.

Local residents told Radio Tamazuj that there was widespread discontent about the flour shortage, saying long queues of people were seen seeking bread at bakeries.

The fare for a bus ticket increased from 2 SDG to 3 SDG, according to the same sources. The local residents attributed the rise in the fare of local transport within Kadugli town to increasing prices of fuel in the state.

The state government reportedly increased the price of fuel by one pound to support development projects in the state.
