Bishop says South Sudan peace talks progressing (Radio Tamazuj, 26 September 2014) -- A member of the South Sudanese religious leaders' delegation at peace talks in Bahir Dar says he is 'satisfied' with recent developments in South Sudan's peace process, pointing to signs of limited progress.

Sudan govt to engage rebels in ceasefire talks by October (Radio Tamazuj, 26 September 2014) -- Sudan's government announced that it will hold cease-fire talks with the Sudan Revolutionary Front (SRF) next month under the auspices of the African Union High-Level Implementation Panel (AUHIP) for Sudan, headed by Thabo Mbeki.

Faction of political parties' forum accuses IGAD of imposing Lam Akol (Radio Tamazuj, 26 September 2014) -- James Andrea, a member of the political group headed by Martin Tako Moi, accused the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD) of imposing Lam Akol on the political parties’ delegation at the peace talks.

Mahdi must first relinquish Paris Declaration before returning to Sudan: Bashir (Sudan Tribune, 27 September 2014) -- Sudanese president Omer al-Bashir strongly attacked the leader of the opposition National Umma Party (NUP) for signing a political agreement with rebel groups and said that Sadiq al-Mahdi can return back to Sudan only if he cancels the Paris Declaration.

Kiir loyalist announces SPLM convention for January (Radio Tamazuj, 24 September 2014) -- Anne Itto, acting secretary-general of the faction of the Sudan People's Liberation Movement loyal to Salva Kiir (SPLM-Juba) has announced plans for the SPLM National Convention to be held in January next year.
