Sudan’s Foreign Minister Ibrahim Ghandour met Saturday with visiting Norwegian envoy to the Sudans Jens-Peter Kjemprud.
The meeting reportedly focused the ongoing political unrest in South Sudan and the regional and international efforts to bring about peace to the young nation.
Ghandour said the most important step to maintain relations between Khartoum and Juba is through the implementation of the Joint Cooperation Agreements signed by the two countries in September 2012.
He said his country is interested in a stable, responsible, and capable government in South Sudan that can achieve economic and social development for its citizens and good diplomatic ties with its neighbours.
The Sudanese official stressed that issues related to the identification of zero line, determination of a demilitarized buffer zone, joint border control force, border demarcation and the border points and crossings should be implemented.
