Sudan ambassador to assume office in Juba

The Sudanese Ambassador to South Sudan Dr. Mutrif Sadig will assume his office in Juba next week, according to Foreign Minister Ali Ahmed Karti. Sudanese state radio cited a statement by Karti disclosing a meeting with his South Sudanese counterpart on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly of the United Nations in New York, at which the discussed diplomatic exchanges. Karti explained that at the meeting they agreed on actively exchanging visits of officials of the two countries, and coordinating positions related to international forums, next to leading diplomatic campaigns to correct some common misconceptions about Sudan, and working to deal with the issue of external debt relief to the two countries. The foreign minister also met with the Sudanese mission in Washington. The meeting reviewed plans to promote the comprehensive cooperation agreements between Sudan and South Sudan.
