At least five civilians were injured in aerial bombardments on Khor Ahmer in Maban County in South Sudan’s Upper Nile State near the border earlier this month, a local official said.
Maban County Commissioner Saad Allah Luk Deng told Radio Tamazuj that three of the wounded in critical condition were taken to Bunj Hospital for treatment.
The county official blamed the incident on the Sudanese Armed Forces. In late December last year, at least one child was killed and three others injured in alleged aerial bombardments on Khor Tumbak.
Maban county borders Sudan’s Blue Nile State where SAF has been battling the SPLA-North rebel group since 2011. Many refugees in Blue Nile have fled to Maban for safety.
