160 people in the disputed Abyei area between Sudan and South Sudan have graduated from a livelihoods course.
The group spent three weeks learning skills in dairy, food, hides, skins, and fish processing techniques. Others learned business and literacy skills.
The graduation ceremony was held by the International Organization for Migration and the program was funded by USAID, which will hold several more courses over the next ten months.
Separately, fifty Abyei students have arrived at colleges in South Sudan for teacher training courses. They will spend two years training in education in South Sudan before returning to Abyei.
