Stranded group of migrants returns to Aweil

Returnees who were stranded in Renk arrived to the city of Aweil in Northern Bahr el Ghazal on Tuesday and Wednesday. Deng Kuol, the director of the aid and reconstruction commission in North Bahr el Ghazal told Radio Tamazuj that the number of returnees who arrived to the city of Aweil is estimated to be 17 families totaling 39 returnees.

Deng Kuol stated that they arrived from Renk to Juba through the river route and from Juba to Aweil by road, adding that space set to receive returnees is the railway area and is now no longer fit to receive returnees due to the floods that hit the state. He asserted that this has caused them to welcome the returnees in Bahr El Ghazal University till they can be deported to their areas in the various provinces of the state.
