A government official has acknowledged that recent violence in the Central Equatoria has displaced citizens from Godoru village.
Yei River State Minister of Information Steven Ladu said, “In Kajokeji county everything is normal with exception of what happened on July 11 in Godoru Boma in Ngepo Payam. There is a bit of displacement there and there is humanitarian crisis.”
“Most of the population left due to the incident to Liwolo Payam. This needs assessment,” the minister added.
Ladu said that another clash on the same day in Lainya County has caused people to flee in that area. But he said that this morning he received a good security report from Lainya and he appealed to the displaced to return home.
Ladu also appealed for the humanitarian agencies to go and assess the displaced in Lainya.
