SRF proposes cessation of hostilities with Khartoum govt

The Sudanese Revolutionary Front (SRF) announced Monday that it adopted a proposal for cessation of hostilities with the Sudanese government in Blue Nile, South Kordofan and Darfur States.

At meeting in Paris, the SRF discussed the current political situation in Sudan and an alternative roadmap for an inclusive National Dialogue.

The rebel alliance reiterated its support for an inclusive preparatory meeting in Addis Ababa under the auspices of the African Union High Implementation Panel (AUHIP). The Addis Ababa meeting will determine the nature of the national dialogue which is scheduled to take place in October, according to the opposition group.

SRF's offer of cessation of hostilities follows the Sudanese government's own unilateral declaration of the same.
