SRF denies harming civilians in Kordofan

The Sudan Revolutionary Front denied harming civilians in recent clashes in Kordofan and accused the Sudanese government of targeting civilians in the areas of conflict in Kordofan, Blue Nile and Darfur.

A military convoy escorting four tankers of fuel on the road of Dilling-Dibebat last Saturday 27 July, an MP in Khartoum told reporters on Tuesday. The tankers were carrying fuel for the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA).

JEM claimed the responsibility of the attack saying they captured the four tankers and other vehicles loaded with weapons and ammunition.

In an interview with Radio Tamazuj, the spokesperson of the Justice and Equality Movement (JEM) and representative of the Sudanese Revolutionary Front Jibril Adam Bilal vehemently denied involvement of Sudanese Revolutionary Front in harm caused to civilians during their clashes with the Sudanese Armed Forces in Kordofan and Darfur.

It was reported that the confrontations in Kordofan and Darfur caused harms to civilians and damage of properties as well as forced many people to flee to Dilling town and Dibebat in South Kordofan, leaving their farms.

The clashes between the Revolutionary Front and the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) led to displacement of a large number of people and loss of properties.
