The Sudan Revolutionary Front (SRF) has appealed to the General Assembly of the UN at its annual meeting in New York, the permanent members of the UN Security Council, and international and regional organisations to immediately act in order to stop the bloodshed of demonstrators by the Sudanese regime in Khartoum and other cities in the country.
The leader of the Justice and Equality Movement and Vice President of the SRF, Dr Jibril Ibrahim, deplored the killing of peaceful demonstrators and demanded the international community to speak out and condemn the bloodshed.
Ibrahim appealed via Radio Dabanga to the international and regional communities to recognise the “the popular revolt” in Sudan and immediately act in support of the people to prevent the “unusually brutal killing of more defenceless citizens.”
Minni Minawi, leader of the Sudan Liberation Movement-Minni Minawi (SLM-MM) and Vice President of the SRF, also demanded from the General Assembly of the UN at its annual meeting and the permanent members of the UN Security Council to stop the repression of demonstrators and the continued genocide and ethnic cleansing in Darfur, South Kordofan, and Blue Nile.
Minawi appealed to the General Assembly of the UN at its annual meeting in New York to put pressure on the government to stop the use of excessive violence against citizens. “Since all citizens have the right to protest in freedom.”
Minawi also addressed the Sudanese army, the police and other armed government forces and asked them to stand by the citizens instead of the regime, “which is down already”.
