SPLM political bureau discusses political situation

The Political Bureau of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), the governing party of South Sudan, held a meeting on Wednesday in Juba where it discussed issues related to the current situation in the country.

The Political Bureau of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM), the governing party of South Sudan, held a meeting on Wednesday in Juba where it discussed issues related to the current situation in the country.

The meeting was chaired by President Salva Kiir, who doubles as chairman of the SPLM party.

Speaking to state-owned media after the meeting, Jema Nunu Kumba, the Acting SPLM Secretary General said the meeting discussed issues related to the current political situation in the country and how to move forward in peace implementation.

She pointed out that the Political Bureau also discussed the standoff between the SPLM members in the national parliament.

Meanwhile, members of the Political Bureau said they discussed the current economic crisis, famine, insecurity and issues related to the deployment of Regional Protection Force (RPF).
