SPLM-PF to participate in President Bashir’s government

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-Peace Faction (SPLM-PF) led by Daniel Kodi announced their readiness to participate in the newly reshuffled government in Sudan.

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-Peace Faction (SPLM-PF) led by Daniel Kodi announced their readiness to participate in the newly reshuffled government in Sudan.

Saleh Juma, MP representing Babanusa constituency, told Radio Tamazuj yesterday that the SPLM-PF is conducting consultations with the ruling National Congress Party  (NCP) on how their party can participate in the coming government.

He further said the participation will be at the national and state levels. He added the selection of the National Legislative Assembly’s specialized committees will start next Monday.

President Omar al-Bashir earlier this week decreed the removal of his entire cabinet and both vice presidents in preparation for the formation of a new government.

Political analyst Zein Al Abdin, who works as a professor at the University of Khartoum, downplayed the role of the other political parties that will participate in the NCP-led government, saying they were not involved in any real decision-making.

In an interview with Radio Tamazuj Thursday, the political observer described the other political parties allied to Bashir’s government as “weak on the ground.”
