SPLM-N warns of humanitarian crisis in Sudan’s Blue Nile

The rebel Sudanese People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) has warned of a humanitarian crisis in areas under its control in Blue Nile state amid heavy rains.

The rebel Sudanese People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) has warned of a humanitarian crisis in areas under its control in Blue Nile state amid heavy rains.

Tila Musa, Acting SPLM-N Secretary General in Blue Nile, told Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that nearly 9,000 civilians fled the violence from Simfona to Wadka after clashes between SPLA-N factions.

Musa further said many people in northern Funj also are living in dire conditions due to shortages of food and other basic services.

He pointed out that aid organizations could not to go the area due to poor condition of roads. He warned that the situation will deteriorates further if there is no any intervention.
