SPLM-N: 'Dozens dying every day' in border areas

The Sudan People’s Liberation Movement has said dozens of people are dying every day in the border areas between Sudan and South Sudan as Khartoum continues to prevent aid groups from delivering food and medicine to large parts of the region, an accusation the government denies.

The SPLM-North chairman the told Reuters news agency that the restrictions imposed by Khartoum has caused a real humanitarian crisis.

He said civilian deaths are also rising as the Sudanese air force is increasing its air strikes.
