The rebel group Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-North (SPLM-N) declared the Sudanese government dropped 16 bombs on different Blue Nile villages on Tuesday killing five civilians.
Spokesman Arnu Ngutulu Lodi said the bombs hit the communities of Gerdan, Ura, Chali and Mayak Babras. One child and four adults were killed, according to him.
“The strange thing is that the attacks coincide with misleading propaganda circulated by the World Food Program (WFP) that has began distribution of food to people in Blue Nile State”, Lodi said.
SPLM-N confirmed being “still” ready to cease hostilities so that civilians on both sides of the conflict could benefit from humanitarian relief.
The Sudanese army could not be contacted for comments on this news.
