The SPLM-In Opposition says that it has yet to study a new constitution adopted during a recent meeting of the SPLM government faction under party chairman Salva Kiir.
An SPLM-IO statement said they did not participate in the convention or the ratifying of any decisions during the 7-9 January event, but did send a representative, chief negotiator Taban Deng Gai, to attend the opening and closing sessions.
The SPLM-IO said Taban attended at the request of South African vice president Cyril Rhamaphosa. The faction said the process to reunite the SPLM party remains incomplete.
