The main opposition group, the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement-In-Opposition, said it was still considering the power sharing proposal presented in Uganda.

“We are still considering the proposals that were put forward during the meeting in Uganda.  We are hopeful that we will come to some kind of consensus at the end of the day,’” Angelina Teny, chairperson of the SPLM-IO committee for defense said on Saturday.

For his part, South Sudan’s cabinet minister Martin Elia Lomuro said they agreed that there will be four vice presidents in South Sudan and accepted the other proposed issues on governance during the Saturday meeting in Uganda.

On Friday, the rival sides in South Sudan signed a ceasefire on security arrangements in Khartoum.
