Aircrafts belonging to the South Sudanese government have dropped bombs in Ulang area in Nasser County of Upper Nile State, a rebel-appointed commissioner said.
Kech Luk, SPLM-IO commissioner in Ulang County, told Radio Tamazuj that the government Air Force had been bombing their area from last week until Tuesday.
The opposition official pointed out that the government airplane targeted Nyanyar area on Tuesday morning, saying many civilians were killed and others injured. He added that a large number of families fled to the bush amid harsh humanitarian conditions.
Kech revealed that about 13 people mostly women and children were killed in an airstrike on Nyanyar and Guorbi areas last week. The commissioner called on the international community to intervene and save lives of the conflict-affected people as soon as possible.
