South Sudan’s defence ministry said it is registering families of SPLA soldiers killed in frontlines since 1983 in Wau state with the aim of financially supporting them to improve their living standards, a military official has said.

South Sudan’s defence ministry said it is registering families of SPLA soldiers killed in frontlines since 1983 in Wau state with the aim of financially supporting them to improve their living standards, a military official has said.

SPLA deputy spokesman Santo Domic said on Tuesday a committee arrived in Wau State to begin the registration process.

Domic further said the ministry will start paying the salaries of fallen soldiers and introduce small businesses to their families to help improve their living conditions.

He explained that once the process is completed in Wau, the committee we will then travel to neighbouring Gogrial, Tonj and Lakes states.
