SPLA officers arrested in Juba for murder and carjacking

Central Equatoria State's government has announced the arrest of a criminal gang consisting of members of the armed forces on allegations of committing a string of crimes including carjacking and murder.

Central Equatoria State Local Government Minister Gerald Francis said that two members of the army (SPLA) were apprehended last week and are now under investigation.

As quoted by Radio Miraya he said, “We have a major and sergeant major who have organized themselves into a robbery group and thanks to God they’ve been apprehended. They’ve not yet been tried because it is a new issue; it has just happened last week. They are still under investigation and soon they will be brought to book.”
