Arnu Ngutulu Lodi, the spokesperson for the Sudan People’s Liberation Army – North, announced their forces had ambushed the Sudanese army between Banet and Agadi in Blue Nile state earlier this week.

Speaking to Radio Tamazuj, Arnu claimed that they managed to destroy two vehicles mounted with heavy weapons and seized a number of pieces of military equipment.

“After we destroyed the two vehicles, we found two machine guns, RPG7 and 9 Kalashnikov guns,” he said.

He said an unknown number of government forces were killed and one SPLA-North soldier was wounded. Radio Tamazuj could not reach government officials in Sudan to confirm Arnu’s account.
