The Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North (SPLA-N) announced that they attacked and captured a vehicle loaded with ballot boxes on the Kadugli-Dilling road on Saturday.

Arnu Ngutulu Lodi, the SPLM-N military spokesman, said that the SPLA-N managed to ambush a vehicle loaded with ballot boxes heading to Kurgul area. The SPLA-North forces will continue with their military campaign plan to disrupt the elections in South Kordofan and Blue Nile region,” he said.

In an interview with Radio Tamazuj, Lodi called on South Kordofan citizens to keep themselves far away from military zones. The rebel spokesman also dismissed claims by the Khartoum government that they incurred heavy losses in battles west of Kadugli.

For his part, SAF spokesman Col. Al Sawarmi Khalid Saad told AFP that they don’t have information about an ambushed vehicle carrying ballot boxes in the state.
