The Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North (SPLA-N) said Thursday it repulsed an attack by the Sudanese Armed Forces and its allied militia in Heiban, South Kordofan.

In a statement to Radio Tamazuj, SPLA-N spokesperson Arnu Ngutulu Lodi said they repelled an attack by the Sudanese Armed Forces at Nyakama area in Heiban.

He said the attack started from Um Berembita and Khor El Doleib in Rashad and that the SPLA-N killed four SAF soldiers and militia troops.

Lodi said the SAF attack was meant to interrupt the farming season.

Radio Tamazuj could not reach Sudanese army spokesperson El Sawarmi Khalid Saad to comment on the claims.

Two weeks ago, Lodi announced the SPLA-N gunned down a government plane at Gerri area south of Dilling town in South Kordofan.
