The Commander in Chief of the Sudan’s People Liberation Army North (SPLA-N) General Malik Agar was reportedly declared unilateral cease fire for a one-month period with the Khartoum government.
A source confirmed that the decision was taken to help the flood-stricken people in the warring areas. The rebel who is fighting Khartoum regime has reiterated its commitment to release all war detainees as well as destroying human bombs available in its stores.
On the other hand the Sudanese government described the decision taken by the rebels as “political talk” just for public consumption. An SPLA–N delegation headed by the Deputy Chairman of the Movement, who is also the Chief of General staff Abdel Aziz Adam Al Hilu had paid a visit to Switzerland where they signed many agreements with the International Organization of the Red Cross. The commander in chief of the SPLA-N Malik Agar was reportedly issued an order stopping hostilities in two states of South Kordofan and Blue Nile. He also directed the forces to assist the citizens to avert flood damages.
