SPLA-N claims capture of Habila town in South Kordofan

SPLM-N military spokesman Arnu Ngutulu Lodi announced in a statement that they defeated government troops and killed 54 SAF soldiers.

“We seized five Land Cruiser pick-ups, a Korean jeep, four machine guns, five 82 mm mortars, three 60mm mortars, 22 AKM rifles, and a considerable quantity of shells and ammunition,” reads the statement.

SAF spokesman, Col. El Sawarmi Khalid Saad confirmed the attack, saying that the rebels destroyed houses and public utilities and burned a market before reinforcements arrived to help force them out of the town.

Separately, a source said the SPLA-N captured El Farshaya area yesterday morning, but Radio Tamazuj could not independently verify the claims.

Chief-of-staff of the Sudanese armed opposition SRF Abdel-Aziz Al Hilu announced over the weekend a plan to sabotage the Sudanese elections scheduled to take place in April.

He reportedly ordered his forces to implement the order to stop the elections in the war torn region.
