A faction of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army-North (SPLA-N) led by Gen. Malik Agar said it has repulsed attacks by government forces in Blue Nile.
Mubarak Ardol, spokesman of the rebel group led by Agar, told Radio Tamazuj on Tuesday that their positions came under attacks by the paramilitary Rapid Support Force (RSF) in Sulta and Angesina areas last week.
He pointed out that the attacks resulted in the wounded of four soldiers from their side, while claiming that eight government forces including high ranking officers were killed.
Ardol further said dozens of civilians fled their homes following fighting between the two forces.
Sudanese military officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
