An unspecified number of soldiers who have deserted the ranks of SPLA-Juba have set up an illegal road block between Rech Ayen and Mading Jokthing.

Community police commander Dabbang Dak Akoul was quoted by Abyei Today newsletter on Friday as saying the deserters were illegally collecting taxes from people by wielding their guns.

He said his department had arrested one of the group and was questioning him.
