A top SPLA-IO general has died in South Sudan’s Eastern Equatoria region, the opposition group told Radio Tamazuj on Monday.

Maj. Gen. Anthony Othuro, who was serving as Deputy Commander of the SPLA-IO Division 9 in Eastern Equatoria state, died on Saturday evening in Isoki.

Lam Paul Gabriel, deputy spokesman of the SPLA-IO group, confirmed the death of Gen. Othuro. However, he did not disclose the exact cause of Othuro’s death.
